It made for a laid back day; especially at the reception (check out the scarf!!)

The vase holding the flowers is actually a trophy that Rene Ann's grandfather won playing in a golf tournament in 1915.

]]>Cale & Raegen's Engagement Sessionhttp://kickstandstudioblog.com/blog/2010/8/11/cale-raegens-engagement-session.html[K]2010-08-11T17:36:11Z2010-08-11T17:36:11ZAnother fun session out at the Kellis Family home.  We shot their engagmenet session at Raegen's parents home on Lake Murray where the actually wedding will be in a few weeks.  Raegen attended Auburn and Cale is about to finish up at Alabama.  The rivalry peaked during the session when Raegen tried to tackle Cale while they were throwing the football around.  Cale took it like a man though!  We had a lot of fun around their property and finished up out in their boat on the lake.  The wedding should be a lot of fun!

Bratton Davis building.  Tobin is a Doctor but we decided to stay out of the ER!  They were so much fun to shoot, so much in love, and so laid back.  I think the baseball shots are pretty self-explanatory; big fans, just not the same team!  Thanks guys!!

]]>Stephanie Koutrakos & Elton Simonihttp://kickstandstudioblog.com/blog/2010/8/9/stephanie-koutrakos-elton-simoni.html[K]2010-08-09T18:53:41Z2010-08-09T18:53:41ZStephanie and Elton were married at The Greek Orthodox Church in Columbia and had their reception a few blocks away at the Marriott.  The day started with rain but it cleared up just before the service.  The traditional Greek ceremony began with the couple seeing each other at the back of the Church so that they could walk in together with the priest.  They were so excited to see each other and I don't think they stopped smiling until half way through the service.  Both families were so much fun to be around. 

"Little Pete," Stephanie's brother put on a dance clinic at the reception (the one doing flips on the dance floor.)  Both families participated in both the traditional Greek and then Albanian dances and almost everyone had a turn on the floor.

I decided to piggy back off of their classy "black and white" wedding and post their "teasers" here on the blog in black and white.  I typically see something new or at least a little different at each wedding I shoot. Lauren's was no exception with her edgy black heels and Daniel's tack sharp dinner jacket (reminiscent of Casablanca.)  Many thanks go out to the wedding party for enduring the Hot Hot Heat for a few minutes and not even complaining once.  Thanks and enjoy!

(A wet bride is a lucky bride!!)  There are a lot of sayings and superstitions related to rain on your wedding day.  Luck, a Strong marriage (a wet knot is hard to untie) etc.  I think it actually made for a great setting and a more memorable day.  The day started with a huge downpour.  After waiting out the storm for a few minutes, they were still able to have the wedding outside at the Corley Mill House in Lexington. They surely weren't going to let white doves go inside the house!!  Catherine gave Jeff a pocket watch as his gift before the wedding.  The cross streets where they were engaged in Germany are engraved on the back of the watch!

Catherine and Jeff both were full of personality from their surprise choreographed first dance to her "throwing" cake at Jeff, and Jeff pulled out a sandwich while going for the garter.  As they were going to get in Jeff's Grandfather's Classic Pontiac at the end of the night, there was Jeff's brother Jason ready to go with em'!!  Everyone was so much fun and so laid back about the weather.  Thanks, I had a great time with everyone!!

My blog posts have typically consisted of the following:  Here are (insert name _______'s) pictures, enjoy!!  My friends and clients have given me a hard time for not actually “blogging”, so here we go. 

Elizabeth and Trent's Wedding gallery could really use a little explaining so this is a great place to start.  They were married on a Friday at The Big Apple and the reception (including a traditional Scottish Ceremony) was on Saturday.  The reception images start with the pictures of 701 Whaley.

Elizabeth prepared for the ceremony at The Downtown Sheraton in Columbia. While I was waiting in the lobby, Steve Benjamin, the mayor-elect, along with owner of the Sheraton asked if I would grab a quick picture of Steve with Nikki Haley and Sarah Palin.  As I was waiting, I was having a conversation with the Head Chef.  He had just told me "good things happen to folks when they talk to me."  Now, I'm not sure if getting a shot of these candidates will make my career but it was a lot of fun and a great story.

Anyway, back to the wedding.  Trent is a HUGE hunter; hence, the duck cake.  Their engagement session was actually at his dad’s hunting lodge.  Elizabeth's mom is in interior decorator and had her hand in almost every detail.

And, Trent got her GORGEOUS ring from Mosley's in Lexington, which is where I happen to have bought my wife's ring.  If you are in need, give them a shout and ask for John.  Tell him Lucas Brown sent you!!
